Sri Krishna Janmashtami is a festival celebrated as a birth anniversary of the Lord Krishna. It is believed that Krishna was 8th avatar of the Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, Lord Krishna was born on Ashtami (8th day) in the Krisna paksha in the month of Shravan at dark midnight.
